About Gnarly Jerky
Gnarly Jerky began with someone refusing to settle for a forgettable bag. Jon Sion set out to make the best beef jerky on the market, not gas station jerky. The story runs from Southern California to Southwest Florida, where the brand now calls Naples home. Original Cut came first, and the brand still calls it the one that started it all. Every flavor gets a character of its own, Sasquatch for Original Cut and Godzilla for Cheribanero, because a bold flavor needs a personality to match. Today Gnarly Jerky ships anywhere in the US and sits on store shelves in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan and Delaware.
What makes Gnarly Jerky different
The brand’s shorthand is zero shortcuts. Every beef flavor is USDA Prime top round, cross-cut, slow marinated, seasoned with the brand’s own blends and dried with no added MSG. Bags are 2.5 oz, described as low fat, with a 10-month shelf life from the production date. Gnarly Jerky calls the range chef-crafted and small-batch. The exception to the beef rule is Black Sesame Ginger, the lineup’s only turkey jerky, which according to the manufacturer carries 8g of protein per the nutrition panel, the most in the range.
Gnarly Jerky flavors we carry
Start with Original Cut, the one everything else was built on: savory, smoky and slightly sweet, with no heat called out. A cherry-and-habanero flavor is the one the brand calls genuinely spicy, if not punishing, so browse it alongside our habanero beef jerky. A steakhouse-style cut pairs a triple peppercorn blend with a subtle bourbon finish, rated medium by the manufacturer and bold but approachable; the bourbon is a flavor note, not alcohol, and you will find it with our peppered beef jerky. A chipotle flavor is billed as medium to hot with smoke that builds as you eat, and a pineapple teriyaki is the mild one, sweet, tropical and savory, worth comparing with our teriyaki-style beef jerky.

By the manufacturer’s descriptions, Gnarly runs from mild to medium-to-hot, so you can pick a heat level. The beef is cross-cut and slow marinated, the turkey is described as having a satisfying chew, and nothing in the lineup has added MSG. The brand says it uses no gluten ingredients. The turkey flavor is made with sesame seeds, so read the bag if sesame or another allergen matters to you.
