About Long John Snacks
Not many jerky brands can point to a founding date before the Second World War. Long John Snacks is the snack line of The Kubisch Sausage Company, a Michigan business that describes itself as family established and family run, making gourmet meat products since 1936. Its methods trace back to the company's original European recipes, and Kubisch says it has kept the same process since the founding year. That process now runs inside a modern, federally approved facility inspected by the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service. The company moved and built out a new facility, which it reports is now operational. It lists a Sterling Heights, Michigan address and a retail storefront in Shelby Township.
What makes Long John Snacks different
Long John Snacks cuts are hand-selected and crafted in the brand's own Michigan facility, and the meat is never frozen and free from fillers. Kubisch also lists all U.S.A. sourced meat, no mechanically separated chicken, no red dye in the meat and organ-free product among its commitments. The jerky is hand-crafted from USDA lean beef, seasoned and smoked. Every piece is left in a wet marinade, which the brand credits for the sticky texture and chewy bite of its Old Fashioned Style.
