Original Peppered is Stripling’s General Store’s original, heavy on the cracked black pepper. It tastes like beef and not just like seasoning. Every piece is dry-rubbed and seasoned with salt, black pepper and other spices, garlic and onion. Real cuts of whole muscle lean beef, trimmed by hand rather than ground and pressed into a strip. Every piece is cut and hung by hand, then spends hours in the smokehouse on site: smoked, never dehydrated. It comes fully cooked and tenderized with papain, and the dark brown strips show through the clear bag. Stripling’s General Store has been making it since 1995 in Moultrie, Georgia, with no MSG, no nitrites and no artificial flavors.
